Ryan Thomas Tucker
Much to our surprise, Julie went into labor yesterday afternoon and delivered a healthy baby boy at 8:01pm. Ryan Thomas Tucker weighed in at 6lbs 11oz and was 19inches long. He was 6weeks early, but so far is in good health. He will spend some time in the NICU until they are sure everything is ok. Mom is doing well and recovering from a C-Section, so she is in some pain but in great spirits. Thomas is also very happy to be a big brother and said “this is the best birthday present I could ever get….” He is 10 today, so their birthday’s will be a day apart.
Julie should be able to come home on Friday, but Ryan may need to stay a bit longer.

It took me a while to get through the tears STREAMING down my face enough to write this…what a surprise!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS Tucker Family! What a beautiful boy, and I LOVE the name you chose! Looking at the pictures I think Ryan looks like his big brother…and it seems he wanted to get here to wish him a happy birthday! Julie, you look wonderful and so proud looking at your baby boy, I am so happy for all of you! My li’l guy Reilly arrived four weeks before his due date back in ‘05 and had to spend time in the NICU, so I do know what that is like, and I just had my third C-section so I know what that’s like too…ALL of it being SO worth it for our little blessings! Happy birthday to Thomas and God bless baby Ryan. Julie, rest and I hope you’ll be feeling well soon! I am so happy for all of you, and hope you’ll all be home together soon…this is such wonderful and happy news!

Just a quick update, Mom and Ryan are still progressing well. Ryan is responding well to feedings although they are through a feeding tube. They are still cautious about feeding by mouth and having him aspirate. Thanks for all of your messages, it is nice to share this moment with all of you!
